Runanga Township (New Zealand)

on
May 23, 2020

Runanga is a small township on the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island. It was founded in 1906 on the back of the coal mining industry and while the town has declined with the downturn in the coal mining industry, it does have some things going for it which makes it worth a visit even if for just a day. The town has some interesting relics from a bygone era you can visit plus there is the Coal Creek Falls which is a nice walk.
